Heather Wysocki said she last saw Austin on Sunday morning when he left the home they share in Acworth to go to his girlfriend’s home in Atlanta’s Virginia Highland area. However his car turned up near at Paines and Pelham in northwest Atlanta.

“Knowing about this area being drug infested we came right here and the car was parked was actually right here,” said Ms Wysocki.

She said she came to the area, described as a hot bed of heroin activity by Atlanta police, because Austin has been battling a heroin addiction.

Ms. Wysocki said he had been clean and sober for the last year, but was having trouble coping Saturday.

Atlanta police said they are concerned after the family said a stranger sent text messages to Austin’s younger brother Preston who then called the man back.

“He told me he had seen my brother, but wouldn’t give any specifics or anything like that. I believe he had seen him because he had his phone and he knew what car he had and stuff,” said Preston Wysocki.

The family is now working closely with police who quickly set up a $2,000 Crime Stoppers reward.

They hope tips will funnel in to help find the 25-year-old man. His mother remains optimistic Austin will be found soon before the next plan of action on Friday.

“The Alpha team is supposed to come out here with dogs and stuff like that, but I’m hoping we hear something before that cadaver dogs. Yeah. If you have any information please call, please, please call,” said Ms. Wysocki.

She said she believes the stranger who contacted her son Preston had bought the phone from Austin.

Anyone with information on the case of Austin Hart is asked to contact the Atlanta Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
