A federal grand jury in Atlanta on Wednesday indicted two Iranian nationals on charges of committing the ransomware attack that paralyzed the city in March.
U.S. Attorney Byung J. “BJay” Pak said Faramarz Shahi Savandi, 27, and Mohammed Mehdi Shah Mansouri, 34, caused the attack against the City of Atlanta, which encrypted vital city computer systems, and demanded a ransom payment to restore access.
