Movie tourism still hot in Atlanta

Seven years ago, when Carrie Burns started her company Atlanta Movie Tours, the economic impact of the movie/TV industry on the state of Georgia was $3.1 billion.

While that figure was—and still is—impressive, it is less than one-third of what it is today.

In fiscal year 2018, the industry generated an economic impact of $9.5 billion, saw the production of 455 feature film and television shows and was responsible for more than 92,000 jobs, according to the Georgia Department of Economic Development.
