The final step of the Genuine Parts Co. (NYSE: GPC) succession plan came to fruition Monday with the company’s board of directors picking Paul Donahue as the sixth chairman in its 91-year history.
Donahue, who has served as president and CEO since May 1, 2016, was appointed as the successor to Tom Gallagher as chairman, effective immediately. Gallagher, the company’s former chief executive, will remain on the board.
Genuine Parts said Donahue will continue as CEO but is dropping the title of president.…
